Users of Post Timeline can easily change the text on the labels on their created timelines.

This article will show you how you can translate the text on the labels on your timeline.

Prerequisites #

Before you can begin translating the labels on your timeline, you will first need to complete a couple of pre-steps.

Prerequisite 1 –  Install the Loco Translate Plugin #

Before you can translate the text on your timeline, download and install the Loco Translate plugin.

Prerequisite 2- Determine the language code of your website  #

Next, you will need to find out what the language code of your website is.

To find out the language code of your website, please follow the below steps:

1. Go to the webpage that has the timeline 
2. Right-click on the screen, and select the “View Page \Source” option
   
3. Identify the language code in the “html” lang” field
   
4. Make a note of this language code 

For example, in the code line html lang = “en-CA”, the language code is en-CA which refers to English Canada.

Translating a Timeline Label #

Once you have completed the above prerequisite, you can begin translating the labels on your timeline

Please follow the below steps to translate a label(s) on your timeline:

1. Log into your WordPress account
2. Go to the Loco Translate plugin, and select the “Plugins” option
3. Click on “Post Timeline” under the “Bundle Name” column
   
4. On the next page, click on “New Language”
5. On the next page, enter your website’s language code ( the one you got in prerequisite 2) and enter it in the “Choose a language field” under “the WordPress” language option
6. Note: be sure to enter the correct language code, otherwise the translation will not take place
7. Click on the “Start Translating” button, and you will be taken to the translation page
   
8. Locate the label you want to translate using the search bar and click on it
9. Enter the translation for the label in the “Language Translation” box ( English (United States) translation in the below image)
   
10. In the above image the label “Read More” is being translated to “Continue Reading”
11. Click on the “Save” button

Refresh your timeline, and the label that you selected will be translated.
